THE PILL OF DESIRE: VIAGRA FOR WOMEN

We are living in an era that has invented a pill for everything. If you are sad or depressed, anxious or bipolar, for everything there is a remedy that promises to restore balance and happiness. I wonder how far we are becoming addicted to chemistry to solve the problems of everyday life, either because the production of drugs is also a business or to prove that humans can solve everything. The fact is that scientific Adriaan Tuiten, renowned researcher of hormonal regulation of behavior, has devoted many years of his life to invent a pill that stimulates desire in women. It's called Lybrido and is in the clinical trial stage, awaiting approval from the Food and Drug Administration , FDA. Since Viagra was released in 1998, which incidentally turned into a gold mine, pharmaceutical companies have spent searching without much success the female version of this "panacea". Since than men dysfunction sex is a matter of mechanics, scientists soon found the formula that remedied quickly. But other scientists revealed that for women this dysfunction is a problem of emotions, and it is incredible that had taken so long to figure it out. I must say here that at least for my generation, love and sex go together. Therefore explicit sex in movies or on television repels rather than excite us, but apparently that is changing rapidly. It is clear that new generations react differently, do not know if because they are releasing theories with before they were educated many , like that which held that a woman who likes sex is bad, that talking about sex is taboo and enjoy is "sluts" or because they have really evolved and are different. The magazine newspaper The New York Times devotes the cover to the issue of female viagra and since then, do not talk about anything else in female circles. The article posits that women are bored faster in a monogamous relationship and that's why it is urgent to find a solution to the problem. The mess is to develop a formula that, firstly reacted to the body and, on the other, to the brain. Dopamine and serotonin are the key to everything. Just need a little detail: finding the exact quantity required of each and how they relate the two. To me all this brings me to the alchemists in the Middle Ages were trying to find the formula to transform base metals into gold. The dilemma that scientists are afraid is too powerful to develop a drug that suddenly go crazy at women and nymphomaniacs again, because they still maintain a bias around them and sex. Back in the 60s the pill was a revolution and women own their reproduction became. They stopped being moms to become women rights over her body and that the economically empowered. What if now they can control their sexual desires? Surely many things would have to renegotiate and rebuild. Today's young it may have changed, but I'm not so sure about that, because I'm convinced that we all need tenderness and love. I think the emotions and instincts dominate in our brain, not rationality. And, after all, I prefer to keep believing that love still remains the best aphrodisiac
